We don't want to impose 'rules' at the Festival
as we'd like to think that those attending are all mature enough
to know what is considered responsible behaviour and what isn't.
However in the interests of all those participating, we feel it
is prudent to apply some guidelines to assist everyone in enjoying
the magick of the NZ Pagan Festivals!
DO'S
* Please respect our Lecturers. They
are either donating their services or we have had to pay good money
to book them. Don't monopolise their time beyond politeness and
understand they need their space and pleasure time too.
* Offer a helping hand. If you have a few spare moments
up your sleeve seek out an organiser or volunteer and ask if there
is anything you can do. There nearly always will be ! Remember
this is an event for the community and as such the community should
be actively taking a part in it no matter how big or small. We would
certainly appreciate the help whether it's replacing a toilet roll,
collecting rubbish or helping put up the marquee !!!!
* Mingle and meet others. If you are coming alone,
there will always be people more than happy to have you tag along
with their group. Alternatively, if you see someone on their own,
offer them your company. Some great and lasting friendships have
been made at our Festivals.
* Respect people's privacy. It's not unusual to see
someone meditating or involved in some solitary practise somewhere
on site. If you see this please do not disturb them.
* Pick up your own rubbish and put it in the bins
provided around the site. This includes any food you drop and any
of your camping trash - including ciggy butts !!!!
* Children must be supervised AT ALL TIMES ! If you
bring your children then YOU, and solely you are responsible for
them and their safety. Please remember there is a stream at the
site!
* Relax and enjoy yourself! After all, this is what
the weekend is all about!
DON'T
* Do not talk during seminars as
apart from it being highly rude, no one is there to hear what you
have to say. Save the chit chat for when the seminar ends.
* Don't take photos of people without
their express permission. Ensure no one is in the background of
a photo without asking them first. Some people are not openly pagan
or heathen and therefore their need for privacy is paramount to
them. Please respect this.
*DO NOT BE LATE! Pagan Standard time (ie arriving
late for everything) is not acceptable when attending lectures.
People walking in half way through can be very off putting to the
speaker as well as to those listening. Same goes for any ceremonies
or rituals. If you turn up late it is at the discretion of the one
leading the circle as to whether they will accept your admittance.
To endure your admittance is guaranteed - DON'T TURN UP LATE !
* If you are camping anywhere near the 'Family Zone'
please be respectful and don't make a racket after 7pm. Some people
have small children and these children need their undisturbed sleep
- so do the parents for that matter! If you have been designated
a camping area near the 'Family Zone' and are intending on letting
your hair down during the weekend (responsibly of course!), then
just let us know upon checking in and we will move you to the 'Noisy
Buggers Zone'.
Better still - tell us when you book and we would be only
to happy to accommodate you.
* Don't light any fires ! ANYWHERE! This includes
candles and Fire Pois- no open flames please.
* DO NOT leave valuables unattended at any time. This
means leaving them in your tent or your car. Natures Magick Ltd
or the NZ Pagan Festival accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen
items.
* Don't be an ass ! Anyone found to be disturbing
the event or it's participants in any way, by displaying intoxicated,
aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour will be removed from
the Festival site immediately. As will any failure to comply with
Event Committee's instructions. There are Health and Safety issues
to consider around the Festival site! Those that have been ejected
from the site for one of the above reasons will not
receive any refund on their ticket.
